Oops! is an interactive device for smart hardware and system development, named after the acoustic response to stimuli. We transformed the characteristic of the puffer fish that swells and puts up its spikes when it is attacked into a unique way of interaction. The main body of the device takes the shape of a square hexagon and consists of spikes, rack and pinion, servo and circuitry parts. Open tools include Raspberry Pi 4B, Unity, and when the hardware is triggered, single or multiple spikes in the device will bulge and lift up the fabric, which is soft and wrapped around the hard fish bones, simulating the defensive state of a sea creature with its sword drawn.
